THE QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL 27 – 31 JULY

The Qatar Goodwood Festival, or ‘Glorious Goodwood’ is a not to be missed event on the sporting calendar. The five-day summer festival is back, and is the first large race meeting to go ahead after restrictions were lifted.

Set on one of Britain’s most iconic racecourses, the event promises to be one of the best yet. With an all new 25-metre bar in the Lennox Enclosure, the atmosphere will be electric as race fans watch top runners and riders racing to the finish line.

The world-renowned festival is held over five action-packed days of prestigious races. It’s anticipated that around 100,000 attendees will come through the gates to enjoy what’s on show.

2021 race highlights

Grabbing the majority of headlines on the lead-up to the event is four-time Goodwood Cup hero Stradivarius. Frankie Dettori is the jockey attempting to take Stradivarius to five wins in a row. Leading the competition is Ascot Gold Cup winner Subjectivist.

The stage is set for what is the most talked about race of the British flat season. The contest will take place in the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup on Tuesday, 27 July. – unmissable!

Another highlight of the festival is the King George Qatar Stakes. The Charlie Hills trained Battaash is seeking to win the race for an impressive fifth consecutive year. Jim Crowley in the famous blue and white colours will be the jockey hoping to see off the competition.

Ladies’ Day

Ladies’ Day is a popular time to dress up and impress at the Qatar Goodwood Festival. Typical ladies fashion for the occasion is a stylish tea dress with fascinator to match.

Make this star studded and glitzy occasion a day to remember. A great day to bring the camera and spot celebrities in the crowds. Also on the agenda is the the Magnolia Cup – the amateur ladies’s race is sure to start the day with a memorable contest.
